- DO get your social media up and running
Social networks are now a substantial part of every marketing strategy and the best part about it is that its free! Having a good social media presence puts you out there with your competition and in front of your potential customers. Some of the advantages include, increasing brand awareness, generating more leads, getting your content seen by more people, building your audience, the list goes on. Another great thing is that it is easy to track what’s going on. Real time data. This makes it simple and quick to adapt to what’s trending.
- Don’t overload yourself.
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Google plus, the list is endless and guess what? You do not need them all! Looking after too many accounts, even for your avid social media enthusiast will dilute your efforts and end up being a waste of time.
Pick two platforms and nurture them. Here’s a little tip, if you are B2C focus on Facebook and twitter, if your B2B focus on LinkedIn and twitter. Once you are completely confident in what you’re doing with these platforms and seeing some results, then possibly add another.
- DO dedicate time for digital
There is no hard and fast formula to decide exactly how much time you should be dedicating to your digital marketing efforts weekly, big corporations may a have a whole team working on it every day but a small business may only dedicate a couple of hours to it a week. Its more about dedicating SOME time to it REGULARLY and getting to know what works for you.
If used in the correct way, hashtags used on social media can be very beneficial. Hashtags make it easy for people to find and follow discussions about brand, events and promotions. They assist with getting your content seen by others. Engagement will rise 100% just by using hashtags so why wouldn’t you?
- Do use video
People are a lot more likely to watch a 3 minute video than to plough through tons of text on a screen. There are so many reasons why video is good for your business. Video explains things better than text bringing it to life, if you are launching a new product then put a video out there showing how it works. Having video on your site will place you higher on google and in turn gain you more traffic on to your site. That’s just the start of what video can do for your business
